Let’s Go! is a short Romantic Comedy about what happens to a boy in love when his Destiny moves to a private school with a voucher and his family is too poor to follow.
Between seating chart drama and middle school nerves, he carefully forms the perfect love note as we see him conducting his daily life: the struggle to fix the family car with Papi, thinking over the boisterous voices of his siblings and parents, and the new hair care regimen and necessity to not put a crease in his recently purchased shoes. “You are my kindest person. I love you.”
Unfortunately, many of his peers are leaving. First Destiny disappears, his best friend, and then his teacher too. After begging his parents, he discovers that such a move is simply out of reach for his family, as the car is broken down, and they don’t have any money for the rest of the tuition.
Despite the facts, Santiago won't give up. He forges a journey to deliver that one all important sentence. The most important one in 6th grade: will you go out with me?
Told in the ironic humorous style of Napoleon Dynamite, with the color palette of Nacho Libra, Let's Go! promises to offer a journey from nostalgia to heartbreak and back again.
Love is always possible in the mind of a 12-year-old armed with a skateboard.
